Penubuhan programdisleksia telah dirancang oleh Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia sejak pengambilankumpulan pertama guru-guru untuk menjalani kursus disleksia selama empat belasminggu. Akhirnya,program ini telah dapat direalisasikan pada 16 Mac 2004dengan memilih Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (2) sebagai sekolah pra-rintisprogram disleksia. Program inidimulakan dengan hanya tujuh orang murid dan dua orang guru.
